Principle of the Assay |
Dextran sulfate, a negatively charged polysaccharide, reacts quantitatively with the cationic dye New Methylene Blue Zinc Chloride Double Salt to form a blue ion-association complex. This complex shows a characteristic absorption peak at 530nm. The absorbance is measured by spectrophotometry, allowing for the quantitative determination of dextran sulfate in the samples. |
